The Mailing List

Please see the committee page for information on how to get hold of members of the exec.

To Subscribe:

  1. Use the email account you want the emails to come to.
  2. Send a blank email to somerville-mcr-subscribe@maillist.ox.ac.uk. (You do not need to have anything in the subject line)
  3. Ezmlm, the mailing list software, will send you a confirmation request, with the subject “confirm subscribe to somerville-mcr@maillist.ox.ac.uk”
  4. To confirm the request, reply to it. Leave the email blank by deleting any past messages and signatures. (You can leave the subject line as it is)
  5. If everything goes well, you should receive another email confirming that the subscription is successful, with the subject “WELCOME to somerville-mcr@maillist.ox.ac.uk”

To Subscribe someone else:

Only a mailing list administrator can do this, contact the Somerville IT services for assistance (instructions can be found here).

To Unsubscribe:

  1. Use the email account you have been receiving the emails at.
  2. Send a blank email to somerville-mcr-unsubscribe@maillist.ox.ac.uk. (You do not need to have anything in the subject line)
  3. Ezmlm, the mailing list software, will send you a confirmation request.
  4. To confirm the request, reply to it. Leave the email blank by deleting any past messages and signatures.
  5. If everything goes well, you should receive another email confirming that you have been removed from the list.

Sending an e-mail to the list

Anyone who belongs to the MCR mailing list can send an email to it. Just send the mail to somerville-mcr@maillist.ox.ac.uk. Please note that it should be used for important communication, not for chit-chat.

Note that the Somerville IT Systems Manager, Mr Chris Bamber, is the owner of the mailing list, and therefore receives all emails sent to the mailing list.
